I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While I loved the hot springs and the spacious, comfortable rooms with a great view of the volcano from the veranda, I felt like the place was a little run down and needed some upkeep. The hotel was overall fine, but there were some areas that could be improved.

Rooms
7.0
I enjoyed relaxing in the hot springs and found the rooms spacious and comfortable, offering a nice view of the volcano from the veranda. However, at night, it was too dark as there were only a few lights that weren't particularly pleasant.
Service
6.0
The service was friendly, but it didn't quite meet the high standards we experienced at a previous hotel. The staff did their best, especially the manager, but it wasn't as welcoming as we had hoped for. It felt like the service was above average for a 3-star hotel.
Location
8.0
The location was a bit strange, with staff looking tired at times, but it was convenient to explore various tours. If you have a car or transportation, it's fine as it's close to everything you'd want to see and do, including the Arenal Volcano and hot springs.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was hit or miss. While the food was fine and plentiful, it leaned towards the simpler side. It would have been better with more variety and better presentation. On the bright side, the homemade ice cream was a delightful treat.
Facilities
5.0
Overall, the facilities were decent, but there were some maintenance issues like frayed towels, torn tablecloths, and poor lighting in the rooms. The hotel could benefit from some upgrades and refurbishments.

I stayed at this hotel and found it to be in a great location, close enough to town but far enough to be peaceful. The rooms, while in need of renovation, offered a beautiful view of the volcano and were spacious with essential amenities. The service was a mixed bag, with friendly and helpful staff but some issues with attentiveness. Dining was decent but lacked some basics like a toaster. Overall, a good stay with a few areas that could be improved.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms, albeit in need of renovation, were spacious and had a lovely terrace with a volcano view. Basic amenities like a hot shower, A/C, and a fridge were provided.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, although there were some instances of inattentiveness, like not providing essentials until requested.
Location
8.0
The location was excellent, close to both the jungle and the town center, making it convenient for excursions and exploring.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was standard, with some hit and miss moments. While the food was good overall, some basic items were missing.

The hotel offers beautiful views of the volcano and wildlife, with clean and private rooms that are adorned with rocking chairs on the patio. However, the rooms are a bit outdated and small for families.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and private, with our own patio and rocking chairs, affording us an exceptional view of the volcano and surrounding wildlife.
Service
8.0
The service was attentive and the staff were welcoming, although not as warm as we had experienced elsewhere in Costa Rica.
Location
9.0
The hotel is a good point for exploring the abundance of fascinating wildlife and being very close to Arenal Volcano and other attractions.
Dining
7.0
The dining was quite good, offering fresh cut fruit, eggs, rice/beans, and other dishes daily. However, there were a few disappointing moments.
Facilities

The hotel facilities were nice and convenient, with a bar and an Armadillo in the garden.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of privacy and noise, as the bungalow-style room felt very secluded but was affected by outside sounds. The room definitely needs some updating, though the private layout was nice. The service was a bit hit or miss, with some attentive moments but also instances where I had to request basic items. The location was stunning, surrounded by tropical plants and wildlife, including a rare sloth sighting, with the Arenal volcano adding to the picturesque setting. Dining was a pleasant surprise with fresh options, although some disorganization was noted.

Rooms
7.0
Despite the privacy due to the cabin layout, the room felt outdated and in need of renovations. The glass pane doors and windows provided a nice touch but couldn't block out all the noise.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and helpful but could be more attentive, especially when it came to basic necessities. They were accommodating but needed a little more proactiveness.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was a true gem, immersed in lush tropical surroundings teeming with wildlife. The view of the Arenal volcano, when visible, was breathtaking and made up for any minor inconveniences.
Dining
8.0
The dining experience was a pleasant surprise with fresh and varied options, although there were some organizational hiccups noted. Overall, the quality of the food was good.
Facilities
The hotel had decent facilities that could benefit from some minor improvements. While not top-notch, they served their purpose adequately.

I had a great stay at this hotel with fantastic views of Arenal Volcano. The location was perfect, with great rocking chairs facing the volcano. The rooms were really nice, offering great views and beautiful landscaped grounds, although could be labeled a little more clearly for easier navigation. The service was a bit lacking when it came to responsiveness and courtesy, but they eventually sorted out the issues. The hotel's location is well maintained, but can get damp at times. The dining options were good but could use more variety. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few minor hiccups.

6.6/10

The hotel definitely needs a complete remodel, but looking out over good views and having a full view of the volcano popping its head out through the clouds during our stay was a pleasant surprise. The rooms could use better lighting, more comfortable bed pillows, blankets, and an update in the baths.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms offer good views but need better lighting, bed pillows, blankets, and baths could use an update.
Service
6.0
The service was friendly overall, but there were some issues with confusion and finding reservations. They were unable to provide a paid-in-full receipt at checkout.
Location
5.0
The location offers the convenience of not having to leave the resort for hot springs experiences, but being on a major highway can be noisy and lacks a great view.
Dining

The dining experience was enjoyable with changing daily options, and all-you-can-eat cooked-to-order food, but some areas like torn table cloths and frayed towels could use improvement.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities are simple but functional, offering convenience for different needs.

The hotel feels more like a cabin in the woods than a luxury resort, with its outdated Swiss ski chalet look. The power sockets were inconveniently placed, and the overall room appearance was not very appealing. Despite this, the service had its charming moments, although some interactions weren't the friendliest. The location, right in front of the Arenal Volcano, is perfect for day trips, yet some areas needed renovations. The dining offered a delicious Costa Rican traditional breakfast but was a bit on the simple side. Facilities were fine, though nothing extraordinary.

Rooms

The rooms had power sockets in inconvenient places and were generally not very nice, resembling a 1970s Swiss ski chalet with lots of timber.
